You can eat and sleep inside an igloo, thanks to the creation of a hamlet of 6 igloos “My Igloo Village”. The village can accommodate up to 20 people per night. Families, couples and friends can enjoy this unique experience only moments away from La Plagne and with a magnificent view of Mont Blanc!
We decided to use a local producer from a neighbouring village that could supply us with homemade soups, local hams and cheeses, brown and white bread, and for dessert, blueberry tart. Our red and white wines come from the Savoie region and the genepi from Aravis. All the food is served in recyclable bowls.
Continuing in this direction, the creators of this project decided to provide a “dry toilet”. No noisy generators here just the gentle glow of candles.
This French Alpine experience starts with a guided snowshoe walk up to the igloo village, from the resort of La Plagne. Guests sink into a deck chair for aperitifs by the open fire before tucking into a Savoyard dinner inside the dining room, where the guides recount local folklore and explain the history of Inuit igloo living. There are four sleeping domes, decorated with candles and faux-fur throws. A hot breakfast awaits in the morning.
